Brett Smrz

Brett Smrz began racing at the age of twelve, soon after his father bought him a go-kart for Christmas. Immediately at home behind the wheel, Brett was competing nationally by his second year of kart racing, winning multiple national championships before graduating to the Mazda MX-5 Cup Series. One week after qualifying pole and finishing third in his first professional race in Houston, TX, Brett suffered a serious leg injury on a trampoline. Following ten complex surgeries, he eventually lost his left leg below the knee. Despite this setback, Brett lost none of his singular determination to become a professional racing driver.

Within three months time, following his amputation, Brett competed in the SCCA San Francisco Region Formula Ford 1600 triple header at the Laguna Seca racetrack in Monterey, CA. Over the weekend, Brett won all three races and secured a track record.

Brett was soon after awarded with the Team USA Scholarship, to represent America, in the Formula Ford 1600 class at the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch in U.K. After suffering contact and an electrical failure in the semi final race, Brett started from the last row in the last chance qualifier, and secured a spot in the final. Starting in 27th position, Brett managed to overtake 24 cars, and finish in 3rd place during the final.

A young man of remarkable determination and proven talent, Brett has established himself as an elite stunt driver, with Drivers Inc., in the film, commercial, and television industries.
